Job Description
Media Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 27 August 2026
Are you a media professional looking to pass your creative skills on to the next generation?
About the role
You'll design, plan, deliver and assess engaging media programmes for a further education provider, combining practical skills development with the underpinning theory learners need to succeed.
Working across a range of levels, you'll bring your industry experience into the classroom, helping learners build the knowledge and skills that employers value. You'll create a positive and supportive learning environment, monitor learner progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Our client offers support to help you move into education and develop as a lecturer.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, planning, delivering and assessing media programmes across a range of levels.
- Delivering a mix of practical sessions and underpinning theory.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing timely feedback.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Subject knowledge and experience relevant to teaching media
- The ability to plan, deliver and assess across a range of levels
- A commitment to supporting learners from a range of backgrounds
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education
If you're ready to bring your media experience into the classroom, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support to transition into education and develop as a lecturer
