Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Lecturer Location: West Cumbria Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum Contract: Full Time | Permanent
Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineering Maintenance professional ready to take the next step in your career? A well-established college in West Cumbria is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join their team as a Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Lecturer.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into teaching—no prior teaching experience is required. If you have industry knowledge and a desire to inspire the next generation of engineers, full teacher training and qualifications will be provided.
The Role: You will deliver engaging and practical learning to a diverse group of students, including full-time learners and apprentices. Teaching will take place across both workshop environments and classroom-based theory sessions, helping students develop the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the engineering sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in mechanical engineering maintenance
- Support and assess students across practical and theoretical learning
- Contribute to curriculum development and student progression
- Provide guidance and mentorship to learners at various stages of their training
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Relevant industry experience in mechanical engineering
- A passion for developing others and sharing knowledge
- Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification (fully funded)
