Maths Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South East
Are you an experienced maths teacher ready to help post-16 learners gain the qualifications they need to move on?
About the Role
Working with a further education provider in the South East, you'll deliver engaging, high-quality maths teaching to learners across a range of study programmes, helping them build the numeracy skills employers and further study demand.
You'll plan and deliver lessons to mixed-ability groups, assess and track progress, and support learners through their qualifications and on to employment or further study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering maths lessons to learners of mixed abilities.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Assessing and monitoring learner progress, and providing constructive feedback.
- Supporting learners with gaps in their knowledge, building confidence and motivation.
- Creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where learners feel supported to succeed.
- Working with colleagues across the team to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in maths
- Experience teaching maths in further education or secondary education
- Ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to varied learning needs
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, CertEd or DET
- Experience supporting resit learners on vocational study programmes
