Learning Support Assistant
Temporary
Are you passionate about helping learners with additional needs build confidence, independence and real progress?
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant with a further education provider, you'll work alongside teaching staff to provide tailored support to students with additional learning needs, helping them access their programme and achieve their goals.
You'll build positive, trusting relationships with the learners you support, adapting your approach to suit individual needs and creating an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Working closely with teaching staff to help learners engage with lessons and complete their work.
- Encouraging learners to build confidence, independence and practical skills.
- Supporting learners in line with their individual plans and monitoring progress.
- Helping to maintain a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A genuine commitment to supporting learners with additional needs
- An understanding of what an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) is and how it informs support
- Confidence working both one to one and within a classroom setting
- Patience, sensitivity and strong communication skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience in a learning support role
- Experience of working within the further education sector
If you're ready to make a genuine difference to learners with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help students build the confidence and independence to reach their goals.
