Learning Support Role – Newham

Location: Newham, East London
Role: Learning Support Assistant
Hours: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available
Start Date: ASAP

Pay - £17.50 per hour (Umbrella)

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming educational setting in Newham.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, helping them access learning, develop confidence and make positive progress. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people and making a real difference to their education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored learning and classroom support to pupils.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
  • Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Patient, empathetic and supportive in approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential.
  • Experience supporting SEND pupils is advantageous but not essential.
