Lecturer in Media
Temporary | Contract
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced media professional looking to pass your creative and technical expertise on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver theory and practical teaching across media provision, helping learners build the creative, technical and professional skills they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
You'll work with learners at varied stages of their studies, adapting your delivery so each one can make progress, and you'll assess their work against awarding body standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging media theory and practical sessions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
- Assessing learners' work and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring attendance, progress and achievement, and putting support in place where learners are at risk.
- Maintaining a safe, structured and professional learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in media or a related discipline
- Industry experience in media
- Confident practical and technical knowledge relevant to media production
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring learners
