Lecturer Business & IT

Temporary

Location: the East of England

Start date: 21 September 2026

Are you an experienced business or IT professional looking to pass your expertise on to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll design, plan, deliver and assess engaging business and IT programmes for a further education provider, combining practical skills development with the underpinning theory learners need to succeed.

Working across a range of levels, you'll bring your industry experience into the classroom, helping learners build the knowledge and skills that employers value. You'll create a positive and supportive learning environment, monitor learner progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.

If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Our client offers support to help you move into education and develop as a lecturer.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, planning, delivering and assessing business and IT programmes across a range of levels.
• Delivering a mix of practical sessions and underpinning theory.
• Monitoring learner progress and providing timely feedback.
• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all learners.
• Working with colleagues to keep the curriculum current and relevant to the sector.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Occupational experience in business, IT or a closely related field
• Relevant subject qualification
• Ability to engage and motivate learners across a range of levels

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education

If you're ready to bring your industry experience into the classroom, we'd love to hear from you.
