Interim Head of Finance
Temporary | Contract
Salary: £500 per day
Are you an experienced finance leader looking for an interim opportunity within further education?
About the Role
A further education provider is seeking an Interim Head of Finance, with an anticipated start date of September 2026.
You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the finance function, supporting senior leaders with accurate reporting, sound financial planning and effective control across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the finance team and its day-to-day operations.
- Overseeing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes.
- Providing financial information and analysis to support senior leadership decision-making.
- Ensuring robust financial controls, compliance and reporting requirements are met.
- Working with budget holders across the organisation to monitor and manage spend.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A recognised accountancy qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of leading a finance function at a senior level
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting skills
- Experience of managing and developing a finance team
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience within further education or the wider public sector
- Availability to start at short notice
