About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in London and the surrounding area, leading and developing Health, Social Care and Childcare provision across 16–18 and adult programmes. This is a hands-on curriculum leadership role, combining team management, curriculum planning, quality improvement and teaching.

You'll line manage and develop a team of teaching staff, drive improvements in learner outcomes and curriculum performance, and ensure provision reflects the needs of local employers and stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Line managing, supporting and developing teaching staff.

  • Monitoring KPIs including recruitment, retention, achievement and progress.
  • Leading curriculum planning, timetabling and resource allocation.
  • Working with employers and stakeholders to ensure provision reflects local skills needs.
  • Monitoring teaching, learning and assessment through learning walks, observations and deep dives.
  • Developing and implementing quality improvement plans.
  • Supporting learner progress, attendance, behaviour and achievement.
  • Teaching 7–12 hours per week, acting as a role model for teaching staff.
  • Supporting the development of innovative teaching, digital learning and effective use of AI.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong Further Education experience within Health, Social Care, Childcare or a closely related area
  • Experience in curriculum management or team leadership
  • A strong track record of improving the quality of provision and learner outcomes
  • Experience of curriculum planning and developing schemes of learning
  • Experience using data, KPIs and management information to drive improvement
  • A full teaching qualification or working towards one
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills

This would suit an experienced Curriculum Manager, Programme Manager, Head of Department or experienced Lecturer ready to step into curriculum leadership.

If you're an experienced FE Health & Childcare professional looking for your next leadership opportunity in London, we'd love to hear from you.
