Health and Social Care Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the South East

Start date: October 2026

Are you an experienced health or social care professional ready to pass your expertise on to the next generation of practitioners?

About the Role

A further education provider in the South East is looking for a Health and Social Care Lecturer to teach and support learners working towards qualifications in the sector. You'll bring your industry knowledge into the classroom and help students build the skills and confidence they need to progress into health and social care careers.

You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions, assess work and give clear feedback, and support learners to overcome individual barriers to achievement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality teaching across health and social care programmes.
  • Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment materials.
  • Assessing learners' work and providing constructive, timely feedback on progress.
  • Creating a safe, inclusive learning environment in which students are stretched and challenged.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Occupational knowledge and experience in health or social care
  • A relevant qualification in health and social care
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing in a further education setting
