Are you an experienced RE teacher ready to take on curriculum leadership?

We are recruiting a Head of RE to lead the Religious Education curriculum within a school.

About the Role

You'll take responsibility for the leadership, planning and quality of RE across the school, ensuring consistently strong teaching, learning and outcomes for pupils.

Alongside your leadership duties, you'll teach RE across the age and ability range.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the RE curriculum and its delivery.
• Teaching RE across the age and ability range.
• Supporting, mentoring and developing teaching staff within the subject area.
• Monitoring pupil progress, attainment and achievement.
• Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Contributing to subject improvement planning and raising standards.
• Working closely with senior leaders and colleagues in other subject areas.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• Experience of teaching RE
• Strong subject knowledge across the RE curriculum
• The confidence to take ownership of a subject area and lead a team

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience as a Head of Department, Subject Lead or Second in Department
• Experience of raising attainment and improving outcomes in a subject area
