About the Role
This is an opportunity to take a lead role in shaping quality assurance and regulatory compliance across a further education provider in the East Midlands. You'll work closely with senior leaders, curriculum teams and support staff to ensure that teaching, learning and assessment consistently meet the standards expected by funding bodies, awarding organisations and regulators.
You'll be central to driving a culture of continuous improvement, using data and observation to identify strengths and areas for development, and ensuring that policies and procedures remain robust, current and embedded across the organisation.
This role would suit someone with a strong background in quality assurance or compliance within further education, who is confident working with senior stakeholders and leading change.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the design, implementation and monitoring of the organisation's quality improvement strategy.
- Overseeing self-assessment processes and supporting the production of the self-assessment report and quality improvement plan.
- Ensuring compliance with funding body requirements, awarding organisation standards and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Leading and coordinating programmes of lesson observation, learning walks and curriculum reviews.
- Analysing performance data to identify trends, risks and areas requiring intervention.
- Supporting and developing managers and staff in understanding and applying quality and compliance requirements.
- Preparing the organisation for external inspection and audit activity.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Significant experience in a quality assurance, compliance or curriculum management role within further education
- Strong working knowledge of funding, regulatory and awarding body requirements
- Experience of leading or contributing to self-assessment and quality improvement planning
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data to drive improvement
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels of the organisation
Desirable (but not essential):
- A relevant teaching qualification
- Experience of preparing an organisation for external inspection
- A background in staff development or coaching
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- is methodical, analytical and detail-focused, with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for learners
- can balance the demands of compliance with a practical, supportive approach to working with teaching teams
- is comfortable leading change and holding others to account in a constructive way
If you're ready to take on a leadership role that shapes the quality of teaching and learning across a further education provider, we'd love to hear from you.
