About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West as a Groundworks tutor, delivering practical workshop sessions and supporting theory to learners working towards vocational qualifications in the trade.
You'll bring your industry experience into the classroom and workshop, teaching to current standards and supporting each learner to build the technical skills, confidence and employability that the industry expects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across groundworks courses.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner progression and achievement.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
- Supporting learners in developing their technical skills and employability prospects.
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop that reflects industry practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in groundworks, civil engineering or a closely related trade
- Substantial industry experience in groundworks
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification
- Previous experience of teaching or training in a further education setting
If you've not taught before, that's no barrier — you'll be supported to develop your teaching practice alongside your trade expertise.

If you're ready to take your trade skills into the classroom and workshop, we'd love to hear from you.
