ESOL Support Tutor
Temporary
Location: the South East
About the Role
As an ESOL Support Tutor, you'll support learners developing their English language skills with an education provider in the South East. You'll work alongside teaching staff to help learners build the confidence, understanding and practical language skills they need to progress.
You'll provide tailored support both in and around the classroom, adapting your approach to the range of backgrounds, starting points and goals your learners bring with them.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of ESOL sessions alongside teaching colleagues.
- Providing individual and small-group support to learners developing their English language skills.
- Helping learners build confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
- Adapting support to meet a wide range of learner needs and starting points.
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience supporting learners with English language development
- The ability to build positive, supportive relationships with learners from a range of backgrounds
- Strong communication skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching or ESOL qualification
- Experience working in a further education or adult learning setting
