Start date: 12 October 2026
Are you an experienced ESOL teacher who enjoys helping learners find their voice in English?
About the Role
An education provider in the West Midlands is looking for an ESOL Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver well-planned sessions to learners working towards English language qualifications, many of whom are building the speaking, listening, reading and writing skills they need for work, further study and daily life.
You'll assess progress, give clear feedback and create a supportive classroom where learners from a range of backgrounds feel confident to take part.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging ESOL lessons to learners at varying levels.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Marking learners' work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Creating an inclusive learning environment where all learners are supported and challenged.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
- Working alongside the wider curriculum team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience teaching ESOL in further education or adult learning
- A relevant subject qualification
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Confidence planning, assessing and tracking learner progress
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience teaching across a range of ESOL levels
- Experience supporting learners with additional barriers to learning
If you're ready to help learners build the English skills that open doors, we'd love to hear from you.
