ESOL Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: 24 September 2026
Are you an ESOL specialist who enjoys helping learners find their voice in English?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to plan, deliver and assess ESOL, supporting learners to build their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and progress into further study, training or employment.
You'll teach learners at a range of levels, adapting your approach to groups with varied backgrounds, prior education and language needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging ESOL lessons to learners across the programme.
- Assessing learner work and preparing students for external examinations in line with awarding body requirements.
- Developing learning resources tailored to the needs of your learners.
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Contributing to internal quality procedures and programme reviews.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in ESOL
- Confidence teaching learners at different levels of English
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching within further education
