English Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: 24 September 2026
About the Role
We're recruiting an English Lecturer to join a further education provider in the South West. You'll teach and support post-16 learners working towards English qualifications, helping them build the confidence and skills they need to progress into further study or employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons to learners of differing abilities.
- Assessing learners' work and giving clear, constructive feedback against assessment criteria.
- Monitoring progress and putting support in place where learners need it.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
- Creating an inclusive learning environment in which every learner is challenged and supported.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant qualification in English or a closely related discipline
- Experience of teaching or supporting learners in English
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching within further education
