English Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: 24 September 2026
Are you an English specialist who enjoys helping learners gain the qualification that opens the next door for them?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to plan, deliver and assess English, supporting learners to achieve strong outcomes and progress into further study, apprenticeships or employment.
You'll teach learners at a range of levels, adapting your approach to groups with varied prior attainment and confidence in the subject.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons to learners across the programme.
- Assessing learner work and preparing students for external examinations in line with awarding body requirements.
- Developing learning resources tailored to the needs of your learners.
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records.
- Contributing to internal quality procedures and programme reviews.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in English
- Confidence teaching learners at different levels
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience teaching in further education
