Salary: £30,000- £40,000 per annum
Are you an experienced electro-mechanical engineer looking to bring your expertise to the next generation of apprentices?
About the Role
You'll work as a field-based assessor, visiting apprentices at their workplaces across the region to assess their progress against their qualification standards. This is a role for someone who knows the electro-mechanical trade inside out and wants to pass that knowledge on, supporting learners through to successful completion of their apprenticeship.
You'll build strong working relationships with both apprentices and their employers, ensuring that training delivered on-site is translating into real competence and confidence. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle will be needed, as this role involves regular travel between employer sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out regular workplace visits to assess apprentices against their qualification criteria.
- Providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets to support learner progress.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date assessment records in line with awarding body requirements.
- Liaising with employers and workplace supervisors to monitor apprentice development.
- Supporting apprentices through to successful completion of their qualification.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi Skilled
- Significant industry experience in an electro-mechanical discipline
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with learners and employers
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised assessing qualification (such as A1 or TAQA), or willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience assessing apprentices or supporting workplace learners
- A relevant teaching qualification
If you're ready to put your electro-mechanical experience to work supporting the next generation of apprentices, we'd love to hear from you.
