About the role

As an Electrical Tutor, you'll plan and deliver engaging theory and practical sessions that build the technical knowledge, hands-on skills and professional confidence your learners need to succeed. You'll bring real-world industry insight into the classroom and workshop, giving learners context alongside the theory that underpins it.

Working with a further education provider, you'll teach across the electrical programme, adapting your approach to a range of levels and helping every learner progress. You'll monitor progress closely and give the feedback and encouragement that keeps learners on track.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering electrical theory and practical sessions that are engaging and well structured.
• Preparing schemes of work, resources and assessments that support progression and achievement.
• Assessing learners' knowledge and practical skills and marking work accurately.
• Providing timely, constructive feedback that helps learners improve.
• Tracking learner performance and putting interventions in place where needed.
• Maintaining a safe, structured and professional workshop environment.

What we're looking for

Essential:

• A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
• Substantial industry experience in the electrical trade
• The ability to teach both practical workshop skills and underpinning theory

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• An assessor award
