Electrical Lecturer / Assessor – Apprenticeships
Role Overview A further education college in the Bristol area is seeking a full-time, permanent Electrical Lecturer/Assessor to join the Construction Apprenticeships team. This role involves managing a caseload of electrical apprentices, guiding them from initial screening and induction through to successful completion and End Point Assessment (AM2S).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, support, and mentor a caseload of electrical apprentices throughout their learning journey.
- Conduct learner screening, interviews, inductions, enrolments, and individual learning plans.
- Deliver and assess high-quality workplace learning, providing coaching, technical training, and constructive feedback.
- Monitor learner progress, achievement, and off-the-job training requirements to meet funding and audit standards using tracking software like Smart Assessor.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with employers through regular communication and progress reviews.
- Work collaboratively with teaching, learning support, and functional skills teams.
- Promote learner wellbeing, safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Salary & Benefits
- FTE Salary: Up to £34,044 per annum, plus up to £5,000 annual market supplement (dependent on qualifications and experience).
- Working Hours: 37 hours per week, permanent contract.
- Pension: Access to the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) with employer contributions exceeding 23%.
- Annual Leave: Generous holiday entitlement including academic leave days, bank holidays, and a two-week Christmas shutdown period.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant industry qualifications in Electrotechnical Installations with up-to-date sector knowledge.
- Experience in delivering or assessing apprenticeships, with a solid understanding of quality assurance processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
- A recognised teaching or assessing qualification (such as PGCE, AET, CAVA, or TAQA), or a clear willingness to work towards one.
- A passion for youth development and delivering industry-standard training.
