Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Start date: 2 November 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to pass on your skills and inspire the next generation of electricians?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider as an Electrical Installation Lecturer, delivering Electrical Installation programmes to learners and apprentices. You'll teach both classroom theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the technical skills and site knowledge the trade expects.
You'll plan and assess learning activities, track learner progress and prepare learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging teaching across Electrical Installation programmes.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner progression and achievement.
- Delivering practical workshop sessions alongside classroom theory.
- Embedding BS 7671 wiring regulations and health and safety standards into your teaching.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
- Supporting learners to develop their technical skills and employability.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation
- Significant industry experience as an electrician
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Current 18th Edition BS 7671
- An assessor qualification
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing within further education
