Job Description
Electrical Engineering Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to pass your technical expertise on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver theory and practical teaching across electrical engineering provision, helping learners build the technical and professional skills they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
You'll work with learners at varied stages of their studies, adapting your delivery so each one can make progress, and you'll assess their work against awarding body standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging electrical engineering theory and workshop sessions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
- Assessing learners' work and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring attendance, progress and achievement, and putting support in place where learners are at risk.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Maintaining a safe, structured and professional learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical engineering or a related discipline
- Industry experience in electrical engineering
- A genuine interest in developing others and sharing your technical knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of teaching, assessing or training learners
- Knowledge of vocational engineering qualifications
If you're new to teaching, that needn't hold you back — industry experience matters most here, and you'll be supported to develop your delivery skills.
Power the Next Generation of Engineers
If you're ready to use your electrical engineering experience to shape the engineers of tomorrow, we'd love to hear from you.
