About the Role

As a Health and Social Care Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll plan and deliver health and social care programmes to learners, bringing your sector experience into the classroom and preparing students for careers in health and care settings.

You'll develop schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments, track learner progress and give feedback that helps students move forward. You'll work as part of a curriculum team to keep teaching consistent and to support learners who need extra help to achieve.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging health and social care lessons to learners of mixed abilities.
• Developing schemes of work, learning resources and assessments.
• Assessing work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitoring and tracking learner progress against targets.
• Supporting learners to build the confidence and employability skills they need for the sector.
• Creating a safe, inclusive learning environment where learners are supported and challenged.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in health and social care, or equivalent occupational experience
• Experience working in the health or social care sector
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess learning for post-16 learners

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing in further education

If you don't yet hold a teaching qualification, that needn't hold you back — industry professionals moving into teaching are supported with training and ongoing development.
