Construction Technician
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Pay: £25 per hour
Start date: 21 September 2026
About the Role
A further education provider in the North West is looking for a practical, self-motivated Construction Technician to support the smooth running of its construction workshops. Working alongside the teaching team, you'll make sure practical sessions are properly resourced, safe and ready to go.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing workshop areas, tools, equipment and materials ahead of practical teaching sessions and demonstrations.
- Maintaining, servicing and repairing workshop machinery and equipment.
- Supporting lecturing staff during practical sessions and assessments.
- Upholding health and safety standards across all training areas.
- Managing stock and inventory so resources are available when needed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant vocational qualification in a recognised construction trade
- Demonstrable practical skills and sound knowledge of industry-standard tools, equipment and materials
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work on your own initiative
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous technical experience within a further education or training environment
