Construction Instructor
Location: Buckinghamshire
Salary: £26,586 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37 hours per week
The Role
An established Further Education provider is looking for a Construction Instructor to support the delivery of practical learning within its Construction and Building Services department.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction industry experience who enjoys working in a workshop environment and supporting learners as they develop their practical skills. The role is ideal for candidates looking to move away from site-based work while remaining hands-on within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain construction workshops for practical teaching sessions
- Ensure workshops are fully equipped, organised and ready for delivery
- Support students during practical activities and independent study sessions
- Assist learners both in the presence and absence of teaching staff
- Maintain a safe, clean and professional learning environment
- Monitor learner behaviour and ensure compliance with college standards
- Support the delivery of high-quality vocational training across construction disciplines
- Liaise with teaching staff and managers regarding equipment, resources and workshop requirements
What We're Looking For
- Construction industry experience within a trade area such as Carpentry, Brickwork, Plumbing, Multi-Skills or Property Maintenance
- Practical workshop experience and strong health & safety awareness
- Ability to support and motivate learners
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Experience working with young people or apprentices would be advantageous
- A proactive approach and ability to work independently
