Computing Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: September 2026
Are you a computing professional ready to pass your technical knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join the computing team at a further education provider, delivering engaging lessons across a range of computing programmes and supporting learners to build the skills they need for further study and employment.
You'll plan and deliver sessions, assess work and track progress, giving learners the feedback and encouragement that keeps them moving forward. You'll also work alongside colleagues to keep the curriculum current and relevant to the sector.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging lessons across a range of computing programmes.
- Planning schemes of work and learning activities that support achievement and progression.
- Assessing learner work, giving timely feedback and monitoring progress.
- Supporting learners academically and pastorally throughout their studies.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and outcomes.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a computing or related discipline
- Subject knowledge across areas such as programming, networking, web development or cyber security
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous industry experience in the digital or technology sector
- Experience delivering across a range of qualification levels
