Computing Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: August 2026
Are you a computing professional who wants to pass on your technical expertise to the next generation?
About the role
A further education provider is looking for a Computing Lecturer to deliver engaging, well-planned teaching across its computing programmes. You'll bring your subject knowledge into the classroom and help learners build the practical skills they need for further study and employment.
You'll be part of a teaching team that works collaboratively, sharing resources and approaches to keep provision current and learners progressing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering lessons across a range of computing programmes.
- Developing schemes of work, learning materials and activities that support achievement and progression.
- Assessing learners' work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring progress and keeping accurate records of attendance and achievement.
- Supporting learners academically and pastorally throughout their studies.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A relevant qualification in computing or a related discipline
- Strong subject knowledge across areas such as programming, networking, web development or cyber security
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in a further education setting
- Industry experience within the digital or technology sector
- Experience of delivering across a range of qualification levels
