Computing Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: August 2026
Are you an experienced computing or digital professional looking to pass your technical expertise on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver theory and practical teaching across computing provision, helping learners build the technical and professional skills they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
You'll work with learners at varied stages of their studies, adapting your delivery so each one can make progress, and you'll assess their work against awarding body standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging computing theory and practical sessions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
- Assessing learners' work and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring attendance, progress and achievement, and putting support in place where learners are at risk.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Maintaining a safe, structured and professional learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in computing or a related discipline
- Industry experience in computing or a digital technology field
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring learners
- Experience of delivering across a range of qualification levels
