CNC Engineering Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced CNC machinist or engineering professional ready to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the East Midlands, delivering CNC engineering teaching across classroom and workshop settings. You'll draw on your own industry experience to bring machining operations to life for learners preparing for careers in engineering and manufacturing.
You'll plan and deliver practical and theory sessions, assess learner work and support individuals to progress, working alongside an established engineering curriculum team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, industry-relevant sessions in CNC engineering.
- Teaching and assessing learners in both classroom and workshop environments.
- Developing teaching and learning resources that reflect current industry practice.
- Assessing learner work and giving timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting individuals to achieve their qualifications.
- Contributing to high standards of teaching, learning and assessment within the curriculum team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in engineering or manufacturing, or equivalent
- Strong practical and technical knowledge of CNC machining operations
- Enthusiasm for supporting and motivating learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or instructing
