Are you an experienced civil engineering professional looking to pass your knowledge on to the next generation?

About the Role

As a Civil Engineering Tutor with a further education provider, you'll deliver practical and theory-based civil engineering sessions to learners working towards their qualifications. You'll bring your industry experience into the classroom, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress.

You'll plan and prepare lessons, assess progress and support learners throughout their programme, working as part of an established team.

If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Where relevant, the provider offers support to help you develop your teaching practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering practical and theoretical civil engineering sessions to learners at a range of levels.
• Planning, preparing and delivering lessons in line with the curriculum.
• Assessing and monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Adapting teaching and learning materials to meet individual learner needs.
• Contributing to curriculum development so content reflects current industry standards.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Substantial industry experience in civil engineering
• A relevant qualification in civil engineering or a related subject
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience of teaching, training or mentoring
