Job Description
POST TITLE: Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer LOCATION: Newbury, Berkshire HOURS: 37 hours per week CONTRACT: Full Time, Permanent SALARY: £33,656 - £39,034 per annum (plus potential £3,000 market premium)
- Deliver engaging teaching across Carpentry and Joinery programmes including full-time and apprenticeship learners
- Plan and deliver practical and theory sessions covering:
- Manage a safe and productive workshop environment
- Assess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement
- Support learners in developing industry-standard skills and behaviours
- Contribute to curriculum development to ensure content remains up to date
- Participate in team meetings, CPD and college activities
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery
- Extensive site-based or workshop experience
- Experience of apprenticeship delivery and workplace assessment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
- Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed or equivalent)
- Assessor and Internal Verifier qualifications
- 40 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
