Carpentry & Joinery Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced carpenter or joiner looking to pass on your trade skills and inspire the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West, delivering Carpentry and Joinery training to learners working towards vocational qualifications. You'll combine classroom teaching with practical workshop sessions, drawing on your own time in the trade to bring the subject to life.
You'll support learners as they build the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to move into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering Carpentry and Joinery programmes through classroom and practical workshop sessions.
- Preparing learning resources and assessing learner progress.
- Supporting learners to prepare for employment, apprenticeships and further study.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Carpentry and Joinery, or a related construction discipline
- Significant industry experience in carpentry and joinery
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification
- Previous experience of teaching, tutoring or mentoring
