Job Description
Job Title: Carpentry Assessor
Location: London Contract: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 35 hours per week Salary: £38,484 – £40,623 per year (including London Weighting)
Overview
A large Further Education provider is seeking a Carpentry Industry Skills Tutor to manage and support a caseload of apprentices. The role focuses on monitoring progress, ensuring timely achievement of apprenticeship standards, and supporting learners and employers throughout the programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Carpentry apprentices
- Monitor attendance, progression, achievement and completion
- Develop individual action plans with SMART targets
- Coordinate achievement of apprenticeship standards/frameworks
- Carry out assessment and quality assurance (where appropriate)
- Maintain accurate records in line with funding and compliance requirements
- Provide pastoral support and resolve issues impacting learner progress
- Liaise with employers and key stakeholders
- Travel across campuses and external employer sites as required
Essential Requirements
- Relevant vocational qualification (Level 3 or above in Carpentry)
- Assessor qualification
- Up-to-date industry knowledge in Carpentry
- Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and funding requirements
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage workload and meet targets
