Job Description
Business Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 29 September 2026
Are you an experienced business professional looking to pass your expertise on to the next generation?
About the role
As a Business Lecturer, you'll plan and deliver engaging lessons that build both the subject knowledge and the professional confidence your learners need to succeed. You'll bring real-world business insight into the classroom, giving students context alongside the theory that underpins it.
Working with a further education provider, you'll teach across the business programme, adapting your approach to a range of abilities and helping every learner progress. You'll monitor progress closely and provide the feedback and encouragement that keeps students on track.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering business lessons that are engaging and well structured.
- Preparing and assessing learning activities that support progression and achievement.
- Marking work and providing constructive feedback to support learner progress.
- Tracking student performance and putting timely interventions in place where needed.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry practice.
- Preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Occupational knowledge and experience in business
- A Level 3 qualification or higher in a relevant subject
- A genuine interest in teaching and in passing on your knowledge
- The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching or training in a further education setting
If you're ready to bring your business expertise into the classroom and shape the careers of the learners who follow you, we'd love to hear from you.
