Job Description
Brickwork Tutor
Temporary | Contract
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: 27 August 2026
Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to step off the tools and pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join an education provider in Yorkshire and the Humber to deliver practical brickwork training to learners working towards vocational qualifications. Working with small groups, you'll combine hands-on workshop sessions with classroom theory, building the technical skills, safety awareness and confidence learners need to move into the construction industry.
You'll be supported throughout, and if you have the trade behind you but no teaching background, that's not a barrier — training and development will be provided.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging brickwork sessions covering both practical skills and underpinning theory.
- Supporting learners through their qualifications with regular advice, guidance and constructive feedback.
- Assessing learner work, tracking progress and maintaining records in line with awarding body requirements.
- Instilling industry standards in health and safety, site discipline, teamwork and tool maintenance.
- Adapting your delivery to meet a range of individual learning needs.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 2 (or higher) qualification in brickwork
- Substantial hands-on experience in the bricklaying trade
- The ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification
- Previous experience delivering vocational or on-the-job training
- Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths
Build the Next Generation of Tradespeople
If you're ready to turn your trade experience into something that shapes other people's futures, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Training and development provided
- Support throughout role
