Job Description

Brickwork Tutor

Temporary

Location: the North West

Start date: 20 August 2026

Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass on your trade skills to the next generation?

About the Role

You'll deliver brickwork qualifications for a further education provider, combining practical workshop instruction with classroom-based theory teaching. You'll help learners build the technical skills, industry knowledge and professional standards they need to progress into employment, an apprenticeship or further study.

This role would suit someone with a strong vocational background in bricklaying who is ready to move into teaching, as well as those already tutoring or lecturing. If you haven't taught before, you'll be supported with fully funded teacher training, mentoring and ongoing professional development.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory sessions in brickwork.
  • Assessing learner work and providing constructive feedback to support progress.
  • Monitoring learner progress and putting support in place where it is needed.
  • Developing learning resources and contributing to course materials.
  • Instilling industry standards in health and safety, site discipline and tool maintenance.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 2 (or higher) qualification in brickwork
  • Substantial hands-on trade experience in bricklaying
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching or assessing qualification
  • Previous experience of delivering vocational training
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and maths

Build the next generation of tradespeople

If you're ready to step off the tools and share your trade with learners, we'd love to hear from you.

What's on Offer

  • Fully funded teacher training
  • Mentoring and ongoing professional development
