Brickwork Lecturer

£30,787 - £46,569 per annum + £3,000 market supplement
Full Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week
The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Brickwork professional to move into Further Education or continue developing an existing teaching career. This role combines hands-on workshop delivery with classroom-based theory teaching, helping learners build the practical skills, technical knowledge, and professional behaviours needed for industry success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical workshop sessions and classroom theory lessons
- Teach across Brickwork programmes
- Support learners through assessments, tutorials, and progress reviews
- Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and learning resources
- Maintain a safe, organised, and industry-standard workshop environment
- Conduct learner interviews and initial assessments
- Provide constructive feedback to support learner achievement and progression
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives
- Work with internal and external quality assurance processes
- Promote employability skills, professionalism, and health & safety best practice
Ideal Background
- Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Brickwork
- Strong industry background within bricklaying and masonry
- Teaching qualification desirable, though training can be provided
- Good communication and workshop management skills
- Passion for mentoring and developing apprentices/students
- Strong understanding of current industry standards and safe working practices
