Job Description
Brickwork Lecturer
Permanent
Location: the East of England
Salary: £36,000 per annum
Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to step off the tools and pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
As a Brickwork Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll deliver engaging theory and practical workshop sessions across brickwork programmes, helping learners build the technical skills, trade standards knowledge and employability prospects they need to progress in the industry.
You'll teach across a range of levels and abilities, bringing current industry practice into your teaching and adapting your approach so every learner can succeed. If you haven't taught before, that's no barrier — you'll be supported to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality classroom and workshop teaching across brickwork programmes.
- Teaching learners at a range of levels, including full-time students and apprentices.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities that support progression and achievement.
- Providing timely, constructive feedback that helps learners improve.
- Maintaining a safe, organised and industry-standard workshop environment.
- Contributing to curriculum development so content reflects current industry practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification (or higher) in brickwork
- Strong industry background in bricklaying and masonry
- Good communication and workshop management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Experience mentoring or supervising apprentices
If you're ready to bring your trade into the classroom and help shape the next generation of bricklayers, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support to work towards a recognised teaching qualification
