JOB DESCRIPTION
POST TITLE: Lecturer – Trowel Trades & Plastering LOCATION: North Devon HOURS: Full Time CONTRACT: Permanent SALARY: £29,783 – £40,961 per annum
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver engaging practical and theory sessions in Bricklaying from Level 1 to Level 3
- Teach a range of skills including:
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work and learning materials
- Support learners in developing employability skills and safe working practices
- Provide clear and constructive feedback on learner progress
- Plan, deliver and assess coursework, practical assessments and exams
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and achievement
- Contribute to internal verification and quality assurance processes
- Provide pastoral support and promote positive behaviour and attendance
- Identify individual learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and managers
- Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge
- Contribute to curriculum development, open events and employer engagement
Essential:
- Strong trade background in Bricklaying with substantial industry experience
- Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Bricklaying or Construction Craft
- Experience in rendering, plastering and related trowel trades
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma) or willingness to work towards
- Assessor qualification (TAQA/A1) or willingness to achieve
- Strong communication and workshop management skills
