A-Level Media & Film Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Start date: August 2026
Are you a Media and Film specialist who enjoys helping young people make sense of the screen?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to teach A-Level Media Studies and Film Studies to Level 3 learners. You'll plan and deliver engaging lessons, build strong subject knowledge in your students and prepare them for assessment and progression.
Alongside teaching, you'll track learner progress, support students as a tutor and work with colleagues to keep the curriculum fresh and relevant.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching A-Level Media Studies and Film Studies to Level 3 learners.
- Planning lessons and preparing high-quality learning and assessment materials.
- Monitoring progress, attendance and achievement, and intervening where learners are at risk.
- Supporting learners as a personal tutor and contributing to their progression.
- Working with colleagues on curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Maintaining accurate academic and administrative records.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in Media, Film or a closely related subject
- Experience of delivering Level 3 or A-Level programmes
- Strong classroom practice and the ability to engage and motivate learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
- Experience as a personal tutor
- Experience of internal verification or moderation
