Taking place on 29 April, the culinary challenge will see PJ Cummings and Antoine Wignal, both former chefs, dusting down their chef whites as they go head-to-head with other teams in a high-energy cooking competition. While the pair now spend their days recruiting talent for the education and public sector, they’ll soon find themselves back under pressure in the kitchen, with their culinary skills put to the test in front of the judges.
With the heat firmly on, the duo will have just two hours to create a winning dish using a mix of provided ingredients and store cupboard staples, aiming to impress the judges and tantalise their tastebuds with their culinary creations, whilst being supported by Leeds City College catering students. Students will help guide contestants through their professional college kitchen environment while gaining valuable experience in collaboration and hospitality.
The event promises to be a lively afternoon of teamwork, creativity and fundraising, while also showcasing the skills of the college’s talented catering students.
Following the competition, guests will enjoy a tasting menu prepared by Leeds City College’s catering and hospitality students, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills in a professional setting.
